Interview answer timer

Time one answer. Then, if you want, try a shorter take and check which points you kept.

Time your first answer

Choose a question and prepare before pressing Start. Only your speaking time counts.

The target is a cue, not a quality score. This clock keeps running into overtime. Pauses are excluded.

No microphone or account needed. Notes stay in this tab; refresh clears them.

Compare what you kept

  1. Choose a target and answer aloud. Preparation happens before you press Start; pauses do not count toward your answer.
  2. After the first take, optionally write up to five short points you actually said, such as your action and its result.
  3. Answer the same question again. Mark the points you said again, then compare the times and the points left out.

Timing is only one part

The comparison uses your own checkmarks. It cannot verify what you said or judge answer quality. A shorter answer can leave out the most useful evidence.

The two-minute and three-minute targets come from MockLive's HR and department-head opening scripts. They are practice cues, not universal hiring rules; use the limit your interviewer gives you.

This timer continues into overtime. MockLive's interview recorder stops each clip at three minutes.

Device sleep may undercount your answer time. Keep your device awake during a take.

MockLive's full interview report quotes what you actually said, so you can review your words alongside its feedback.
